Ben Josephson

Senior Vice President

Ben Josephson is a senior vice president in the government relations practice at O’Neill and Associates. In this capacity, he advises clients on federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory processes. Ben also consults with candidates for elective office on fundraising strategy and implementation. His clients have included Mohegan Sun, Total Wine & More, New England Gas Workers Association, McKesson, and Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Ben remains actively involved in Connecticut policy and politics. Prior to joining, and during his time at O’Neill and Associates, he served in several capacities for Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut on his campaigns for Senate, Vice President and President. Ben supported Governor Dan Malloy and other elected officials through his consulting work for the Connecticut Democratic Party and led fundraising for two successful Connecticut ballot referenda: in 2018 to create a transportation funding “lockbox,” and in 2022 to enable early voting.

Recent Connecticut public affairs successes include the negotiation to stabilize the City of Hartford’s finances and the successful pursuit on behalf of a client to operate the Hartford Line commuter train service from Springfield to New Haven.

Ben brings several years of experience in national political fundraising to his work, having previously served on the fundraising staff of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Washington, D.C.

An avid cyclist, Ben is a multi-year participant in the Pan-Mass Challenge which raises funds for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. He is also chairman of the board of the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance. Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Rochester.
