Account Executive
Maddie McCullom is an account executive in O’Neill and Associates’ federal government relations practice. As a member of the government relations team, Maddie assists a diverse range of clients with matters related to the federal government.
Maddie is an alumna of O’Neill and Associates’ internship program where she assisted the federal government relations team with client research, federal appropriations, and listening in on key congressional committee hearings. Now in her official capacity, Maddie assists the federal relations team on a range of businesses and nonprofit clients on matters related to transportation, energy, healthcare, education, the arts, and conservation to advance their lobbying goals at the federal level. Maddie has become well versed in the annual federal appropriations process, working with clients to secure support for community project funding requests. Maddie annually publishes an in-depth analysis of how the New England Congressional Delegation fares in the Congressionally Directed Spending process that has become an effective tool for informing clients of the best approach to securing funds.
Being based in our Washington office has allowed Maddie to be effective for client advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill. In the last year, Maddie has helped facilitate trips to DC for the President and CEO of the Trustees of Reservations and the Cape & Islands Bridges Coalition to meet with members of Congress and Administration officials.
Maddie graduated cum laude from American University with a Bachelor of Arts in public affairs in the interdisciplinary program, CLEG, which focuses on communications, legal institutions, economics, and government. During her studies, Maddie had an active role in studying the 2020 presidential election, joining local Washington, DC CBS affiliate WUSA9 weekly to discuss campaign strategies. Her final semester at American University was spent abroad in London, where she interned for Member of Parliament Sarah Olney. During her time there, she was responsible for drafting press releases, addressing constituent issues, analyzing policy related to energy, healthcare, and transportation, and providing the MP with a daily briefing on current events.
